James Bingham was born in Belfast, in 1925. He spent thirty years in London working as a signwriter with his brother. In 1967 he returned to Belfast where he met fellow artist, Dan O'Neill. They became friends and began working together in 1968 in Dan's Studio until Dan's tragic death in 1974. Since then, James Bingham has gone from strength to strength. Bingham spent up to ten hours a day in his studio translating his unique artistic genius into paintings which can be described as full of joy. His work can be appreciated for its narrative sophistication and original colour palette. Bingham passed away in 2009.
