Gwen John
Cat, Watercolour on Paper John was born in Haverfordwest, Wales in 1876, moving to Tenby in Pembrokeshire, Wales after her mothers death along with her notable younger borther Augustus John. She was educated at the Slade School of Art, the only school in the United Kningdom to accept female students. After her schooling she spent a great deal of her time in Bordeau, France. She passed away in Dieppe, France in 1939. John is most well known for ther paintings which were comprised mainly of unknown female sitters with much of her work charecterized by her use of soft grey tones. 1 products in this category, displaying products 1 to 1.
